Pepita the wonder mouse now has a cage mate. Last I mentioned the mousies, two had escaped certain snakey doom by climbing out of a cardboard box and escaping into the office. Chase ensued. Later, I went into the office and pretended to be a ninja (IE: I was quiet) I heard a scrabbling from behind a bookcase. When I scooted down to peek, a cute little whiskered face peered back at me. I made a halfhearted grab and she went back behind the bookcase, only to pop her head back out in seconds. I instantly made a fiendishly clever plan. I got a piece of mouse chow and held it near the opening. She came out and began to eat right out of my hand... heart strings going twang I scooped her up (no biting from this one!) and raced to my coworkers office. So Pepita now has a cage mate named "Hope"

The movie 9 super-mom review

For my birthday my daughter took me to a movie! Yeah movies! I wanted to see 9, so 9 it was.
At the end of the movie my daughter turned to me and apologized. "no, no" I said "I wanted to see this movie, so it's all my fault"
Looking back, it's the film makers who should apologize.
While the movie had acceptable animation (not fantastic, just acceptable) the plot was so nonsensical and so full of holes, I have to wonder, what were they thinking? Even the (non) pay off at the end was unsatisfactory.

Overrun with mice

The snake has been eating four mice at a time. Yesterday the mouse go-getter guy picked up four mice.
This morning I looked in the box and asked "didn't you get four mice?"
"Yes" said go-getter guy "Why?"
"Because there are only two in the box"
This lead to the great mouse hunt with furniture ripped from the walls and much cussing.
We may get them yet

The mouse leads a charmed life, someone at work has agreed to take the creature.
I have reapplied for my job and have been asked to return, it's good to be wanted, even if it's only for three days a week instead of full time.

Bad news or Good? You decide.

Friday the CEO at work announced everyone is FIRED. Clean out your office and drop off your keys. We have to reapply for our old jobs. I can't decide if I should just take the unemployment and run, or reapply and go back to work on a truncated work week, aaarg. What will I do with my work mouse? Pepita was always meant to stay at work, far far away from my vicious mighty hunter of a brain damaged cat. She may see the instead of the snake yet if I can't find someone to take her.

Snake food belongs in the snake

We have a snake (a Red Tailed Boa Constrictor) at work, and once a week it eats three mice.
This week we got four mice because the snake's been growing and looking hungry.
The first mouse we put in managed to hide in the snake's tank for over an hour without getting eaten, while the snake finished off numbers 2 through 4. Pity ruled the day and I scooped the mouse out, named it "Pepita" and popped it to in an extra tank before I could think about the ramifications of my actions. Later I opened Pepita's tank to make friends, and she bit me. I threatened her with a return to the snake tank, but she must have known I wouldn't do it, because she didn't apologize.
Looking over at the snake, I imagined I could hear hissing laughter.
Hiss ha ha?

nude drawing class

I've been thinking I should improve my drawing skills. So Saturday I went to a nude drawing class, well, it's not really a class- it's just a naked woman posed and holding still so we can draw her. After about ten minutes and three quick sketches, I got really bored. And everything I drew looked like a cartoon. Maybe I draw cartoons because I don't have the Patience to draw long form classic art.
I also wouldn't have the patience to hold a pose for very long, I thought the poor woman would be lying down or something, but no, she was sitting. I get cramped up just thinking about it.
I'm pretty sure I won't be going back next week.

My plans for the day

Today, I am thinking about eating creamy cheese, but alas, I have no cheese.

I just saw the new Star Trek (2009) and there's only three things coming home with me.

1) Screw canon. Not really a problem, it's a reboot after all.
2) Did. NOT. Do. The. Research. Any. Research... At. ALL.
3) In the future no one can hold a camera study

This is from halloween. The BuruBuru costume is the one I wore at Dragoncon. This is a better picture than the ones I got at Dragoncon though.

are things better in color?

I'm experimenting with adding color to the comic. I'm starting to figure out gimp. The worst is deciding on permanent hair colors for all the characters. The only hair color actually commented on in the comic is Sterling's. He's described as a "big blond" and blond covers a lot of shades, just ask Sweeney Todd, he sang a song about all the shades of blond!

Ah, at last! I've gotten an email back from comic genesis and I should have my comic up and running in a week or so. Excitement abounds

Adorable Desolation is the name of my webcomic. It's at "adorabledesolation.blogspot.com"

I only have a few pages up and I need to ink up more pages, but I have over one hundred pages of the story penciled.

I'm almost done with my little drawn story about a befuddled amnesiac running a magical gift shop. When I get over my nerves I may post it online. I'll need to select a title. I've been considering calling it "The Shop Clerk" or just "ShopClerk" or "Sunday in the park with ShopClerk"

Fantastic times. I went to dragoncon!!! and loved it ! I was in the parade as the yokai Buru Buru, and got tons of photos.
There was a concert by Arcattack (with the singing tesla coils), at the mad scientist's ball.
I will be posting the video soon on youtube.
